Three things to check before hiring one

Direct answer: whether the registered entity can be verified, whether the quote can be itemised, and whether they genuinely handle translation and notarisation.

• Registered entity. Can they give a full company name you can verify yourself? Be cautious of a social-media handle or personal number only.
• Itemised quote. A quote that separates the service fee from pass-through costs is more transparent than a single lump sum.
• Familiarity with translation and notarisation. If your home licence is not in English, a few specific questions will reveal whether they actually handle this.

Details most commonly overlooked during the process

Direct answer: consistency of your details across documents, the validity of your medical clearance, and not handing original documents to anyone in advance.

• Consistency across documents. Names and ID numbers must match exactly across every document - a common rejection cause is in name mismatches.
• Medical clearance validity. How it works and how long it is valid - see the medical exam.
• Original documents. The normal practice is presenting them in person, not handing them over in advance.

Two more get missed often: whether the receiving account matches the name on your contract - refuse any request to transfer to a personal account - and any language promising a guaranteed outcome or skipping the medical exam. Acceptance and issuance are decided by the counter, and no provider can unilaterally guarantee either.

One test: who is protecting you, and who is exposing you

Direct answer: a provider that proactively tells you which steps require you in person is worth continuing with; one that says "you don't need to go at all" has already failed the first test.
