What an overstay agent actually buys you

Correct banding — how long you have overstayed, which transaction applies, whether division-chief approval is involved, whether a notarised explanation is required. Getting this wrong costs a wasted trip while the day count keeps rising. And correct sequencing — settlement, updating, clearance and departure happen in an order; reversed, the worst case is discovering at the airport that you cannot leave. Why no quote comes before the day count

The answer depends on how long you have overstayed (which sets the transaction), the date your lawful stay ran to and what was filed in between, your age band and any accompanying minors, whether an express lane or alien registration matters are involved, and whether a notarised explanation is needed. The correct order is count the days, fix the band, then issue an itemised quote. Skipping to a number is not efficiency.

How overstay cost breaks down

1. Government fees and the component computed from the length of overstay — published and checkable against the official schedule.
2. Third-party document cost — notarisation of the letter of explanation required in the six-month band, translation and photos where needed.
3. Service fee — banding and sequencing.
4. Variable cost — further documents, resubmission, extra explanations, repeat trips.

Four checks, plus one specific to overstay

1. A company registration you can look up.
2. An address you can walk into.
3. An official receipt in the company's name — especially important here, since you may later need to evidence that you settled.
4. Contract party, receipt party and account all matching, on a corporate account.

Then: ask for the BI accreditation number. The Charter's supplementary requirements for these transactions state that a representative filing needs a Special Power of Attorney with the representative's valid ID, or a photocopy of the travel agent's BI accreditation ID. And insist on a written acknowledgement for the passport — see when a passport is withheld.

Three things to be wary of on this line

1. We can erase the overstay record. Be wary of this: overstay is resolved by filing under the correct transaction and settling, and the record stands as the rules provide.
2. No need to go to the Bureau, we will fix it at the airport. Clearance and departure follow a set order — see leaving with an expired visa.
